Identifying the Symptoms of Candidiasis

Thursday, August 5th, 2010 No Commented
Under: Diseases

Candidiasis is the common name given to an overgrowth of candida within the body. Normally the candida is kept in check by the beneficial bacteria within the body but if the immune system is weakened then the candida can expand and grow. Typically the worst symptoms are a couple of days of diarrhea, but if the body defenses are severely weakened then this can allow the candida to gain a foothold and spread further.

Superficial infections in the mouth, the vagina or skin problems are normally more obvious and easier to treat. If the infection is in the stomach and spreads to the intestine this can be much harder to detect and can be misdiagnosed. It could take weeks or months to discover and in the meantime cause a large amount of discomfort and pain.

Oral candida, commonly known as thrush, is quite easy to recognize. Usually the tongue will have white patches that look like milk. There may also be patches around the corner of the mouth that feel tender. There are various treatments available which can clear this up quite quickly.

Candida overgrowth in the vagina can be recognized by itching, soreness and dry skin. There may be a white discharge which will be different to normal, either by smell or appearance. It is important to get this diagnosed as some STD’s mimic these symptoms and it could be something different altogether.

Candida on the skin can occur on the web between the toes and fingers and other areas that sweat. Generally it is just redness and itching but can be quite painful if left alone. Normally creams and preventive measures can clear this up quite quickly.

Candidiasis in the stomach or intestines has its own range of symptoms and problems it causes. They will differ from person to person in severity but in general terms they are all similar. They include bloating of the stomach, constipation and excess gas. It is not unusual to feel full, even if you haven’t eaten recently. Food cravings, especially for sugary foods, are normal. If you have ever watched yeast cultures grow or bread dough proving then you will understand what is happening in the stomach. Since candidiasis interferes with the extraction of nutrients from the food that is eaten the sufferer will feel tired and run down. Also cold and flu symptoms are usual.

If left untreated the candida will turn fungal and lay roots into the lining of the stomach and intestine. This is known as ‘leaky gut syndrome’ and can cause enough problems on its own. This allows entry of toxins from the stomach into the bloodstream which can cause dizziness, fatigue, muscle pain, respiratory problems, acne, hives, eczema and generally feeling irritable. All of these make it very difficult to actually diagnose the problem.

A further complication, known as candidemia, is when the yeast toxins or spores enter the bloodstream. This can be as a result of the ‘leaky gut syndrome’, injury or after invasive surgery. This will allow the spores to settle in areas of the vital organs, joints or eyes causing further damage.

The symptoms of candidiasis, while similar to many other ailments, can be quite easy to pick out. Consuming large amounts of yeast foods, cravings for yeast and sugar foods and generally feeling run down are all good indicators. Candidiasis if left unchecked can be extremely painful and in some cases fatal. If there is any indication of an infection then it should be diagnosed and treated immediately.

Hyperhidrosis Treatments

If you want to stop excessive sweating, then there are several hyperhidrosis treatments available to you. But how to know which one will work best?

Types of Hyperhidrosis

There are different types, for example palmar (that means sweaty hands), plantar (that means sweaty feet), facial (that means sweaty face), axillary (that means heavy underarm sweating) and general hyperhidrosis. For palmar and plantar hyperhidrosis, iontophoresis might be a good treatment choice – but in the case of axillary or a general sweating problem, it is not only ineffective, but even extremely painful.

Causes Of Hyperhidrosis
There are many possible causes of hyperhidrosis. In about 50% of the cases it’s hereditary – your genes. In all cases it is a imbalance in the regulatory mechanism that controls your sweat glands. However, even if you have hyperhidrosis for genetic reasons, it is still curable.
Obese people also tend to suffer from hyperhidrosis more often than others.

Treatment Options
The easiest and most common form are topical treatments like anti-perspirants which you simply apply on the areas where you want to avoid sweating. Most of them are aluminum chloride-based.

Focal Botox injections are also becoming more popular – Botox basically blocks the nerve endings that lead to the sweat glands. This treatment is however very expensive and needs to be renewed every couple of weeks.

Another common treatment is iontophoresis – basically a low-powered electric current is sent through the affected area to reduce the activity of the sweat glands. This treatment is most commonly used for palmar and plantar hyperhidrosis.

Surgery is almost not being used anymore – newer scientific findings showed that it is pretty ineffective. While it does permanently stop the excessive sweating in the area where it is performed, it can often (in as much as 90 percent of all cases) lead to compensatory sweating in other areas of the body.

Male Yeast Infection Problem

The male yeast infection is often overlooked when one talks about yeast infections. Most guidance is catered towards females but men do get them and they are just as serious if not more so. This article explains the causes and symptoms of them.

The male yeast problem is something that often isn’t discovered and many men go through their entire life without ever knowing they have a yeast problem. This is because it can be extremely difficult to detect and a man will not become aware that there is a Candida problem until it affects other problems of with their health and well being.

The most common scenario for a penis yeast problem is that a man will be informed by their partner that they have a yeast problem and that they should get checked out too or take anti-fungal medication to be safe. Most men are recommended to take the medication because otherwise the infection is often likely to be transferred back to the women who then will have a recurring yeast infection.

The problem with contracting a vaginal yeast infection is that the male urethra is very exposed during sex. The yeast problem can travel up the urethral canal and make home in the prostate. Prostate cancer and prostate problems have been on the rise over recent years and many men suffer from them in later life. Untreated/undetected yeast infections could be a contributory factor to this.

In some cases, if you are lucky, a male yeast infection can be noticed. This is usually by dry cracked skin on the penis. When the man has an erection the cracked skin can be extremely painful.

The most common symptoms for men and boys when it comes to yeast are digestive problems. Males usually experience constipation, bad breath, indigestion, bloating, sexual dysfunction, irritability, mood swings, lack of energy, frequent diarrhea, jock itch, dry flaky skin, prostate problems. If you experience any of these symptoms or a few it is important that you get checked out by a Doctor.

Men can get yeast problems from sex (as discussed above), too much fat in the diet, alcohol, antibiotics and a weakened immune system. If you have a diet high in fat then it is a good idea to cut the fat from your diet asap. A low fat diet is beneficially not only in overcoming yeast problems but is much better for health in general.

Sinusitis Nose

I’ve heard many times people ask why in the world they are sinusitis sufferers. There are many reasons but one that is not often discussed is having what is known as a sinusitis nose. This refers to a specific structural deviation or abnormality that predisposes you to having sinusitis. Most doctors only focus on one specific structurally abnormality for the nose, a deviated nasal septum. So do you have a sinusitis nose?
Indian antibiotics online
Well let’s look at the most common one, which is a deviated nasal septum. The nasal septum is composed of both cartilage and bone and divides the nasal passages into two sections. If this septum is deviated from the mid-line, it can occlude the sinus or nasal passageways. This occlusion very often leads to chronic sinusitis. Symptoms of a deviated nasal septum include snoring, waking up extremely tired, frequent nosebleeds or extremely dry nasal passages, and an occluded nasal passageway. Septoplasty is a quick and easy outpatient solution for severe deviated nasal septum. I’ve seen many times though that doctors quickly jump to this procedure without getting an accurate diagnosis so please make sure you see a specialist before going this route.

Another common sinusitis nose abnormality is nasal polyps. These are local proliferation of the nasal mucus forming a small mass. This mass then can cause occlusion or irritation of the surrounding tissues. It is true that sinusitis can actually cause nasal polyps but in my experience they usually precede it. In my opinion allergies are more likely the cause of this tissue growth. Chronic irritation with pollen or other allergens is the culprit. I have had a few patients where polyps have decreased by removing allergens and using some nasal irrigation techniques but it is far and few in between. Surgical removal is usually the best solution but as with septoplasty, please make sure to see a specialist to make sure.

Enlarged adenoids can mimic a nasal polyp as well. Your adenoids are lymphoid tissues which act as the “guardians”, monitoring for bacteria and viruses that you breathe in. The symptoms of enlarged adenoids are often confused with a deviated nasal septum as they are very similar. Only visualization can differentiate between the two. As with polyps allergies are most often the cause for increased adenoids. Focusing on removing allergens, dust and pollens are necessary for this solving this. Many specialists are recommending ablation, or removal, of this tissue to help. Although this can relieve symptoms there are a few studies showing that people without their adenoids have more frequent viral infections. This makes sense since not having adenoids means you lose some of the immune tissue that is responsible for keeping you healthy.

If you’ve had a history of cleft palate then you definitely are someone predisposed to sinusitis. The unfortunately thing is that there is not much you can do to help solve this one. Using sinus irrigation techniques and other immune boosting agents to help reduce any other sinusitis factors is the best treatment option for those with a history of a cleft palate.

Lastly trauma to the face can give you a sinusitis nose. As with a history of cleft palate there is not much you can do about this one unless you’re dead set on plastic surgery. There are some anecdotal reports of some who had plastic surgery to their nose experienced a decrease in sinusitis infections. This is rare but it can happen.

Female Genital Herpes

Fact: 60% of women suffering from genital herpes do not know they have the disease otherwise known as HSV-2 and unwittingly pass it along to their unsuspecting partners. Signs of female genital herpes vary and transmission can occur in some unlikely ways.

What is HSV-2 and How Does It Affect Women
Mexican pharmacy viagra
HSV-2 in more commonly known as genital and in women just as in men it can take up residence in the sacral ganglion region of the spine. When the virus is active it may migrate to the vaginal, inner thigh or anal area of the women. At that time liquid filled blisters or pimple like pustules will form, eventually breaking open and scabbing over. The duration of a breakout may vary, but generally last between 10-14 days, depending on severity. The first breakout tends to occur within the first 14 days of contact with the infected person again, usually appearing around the vaginal and/or anal regions. In some more severe breakouts glandular swelling and flu like symptoms may occur. Such severe symptoms may need the care of a physician.

Transmission

Female genital herpes transmission most often occurs with direct contact from a sexual partner when the partner is “shedding”. During “shedding” the virus is active on the skin, no symptoms may be shown, but this is the period when the HSV-2 virus is most contagious. Transmission can occur while kissing, during intercourse, from oral to genital, genital to oral contact and little known vehicle of transmission “sex toys”. It is recommended that “sex toys” not be shared or sanitized thoroughly as not to infect your partner. The herpes virus can also be spread from mother to child during birth; the virus can find its way to the uterus and urinary tract in women. Should a female be experiencing a genital herpes breakout during birth, the physician may recommend a cesarean birth.

Diagnosis

Female genital herpes maybe diagnosed most commonly in one of two ways: visual inspection or blood test. The most common, the visual inspection, is a self-assessment in which either redness, blisters or scabbing are present, but you may still want to confirm with your physician. Less common, but more effective are blood tests in which your physician can check for HSV-2 antibodies in your blood confirming the presence of the virus.

Cure

As of yet, there is no cure for female genital herpes, but there are several ways to both decrease the number and severity of breakouts. Everyday suppression techniques include stress management, eating food low in arginine and simple L-Lysine supplements. I highly recommend you seek out reading material regarding a healthier herpes lifestyle and confidently say you will live a happier, healthier almost herpes free lifestyle.

Hiatal Hernia Treatment

There are many people who suffer from hiatal hernias each year. A hernia is the protrusion of an organ or body part into an area where it shouldn’t be. A hiatal hernia is a condition that occurs when the part of the stomach, and in some cases the lower part of the esophagus, pushes through the hiatus in the diaphragm into the chest cavity.

Symptoms of a hiatal hernia are similar to those of GERD or acid reflux disease. These include heartburn, sore throat, hoarseness, chest pain and regurgitation. These are mainly caused by reflux of stomach acid and stomach contents. Health care professionals rarely suggest surgery as hiatal hernia treatment. In some cases medications similar for acid reflux symptoms may be prescribed for a hiatal hernia treatment. However these drugs are notorious for their dangerous side effects and allergic reactions that can be deadly.

hiatal hernia

Another factor to consider is the fact that many people enjoy traveling and extended stays abroad. This can present a problem if you have become dependent on such prescription drugs. Fortunately there are many home cures and natural remedies that can be used as hiatal hernia treatment. These have proven to be extremely effective for many and are well complimented by a healthy diet and regular exercise. The great thing is that these natural remedies are easily accessed in almost any part of the world.

And in fact, traveling can actually often make the diet and exercise portions of your hiatal hernia treatment easier as well. And if you are traveling to countries like China or other old world countries, there may be other natural remedies available that you can try. The fact is that traveling itself often forces you to walk regularly and get more exercise than you might ordinarily. Many people fail in the exercise portion of their hiatal hernia treatment at home because they get bored of walking the same places or staring at the same walls in front of the treadmill. Traveling normally provides many new sights and paths to travel along with great new experiences that can revitalize the soul.

You will often find that traveling can also provide many more healthy options for eating that can make hiatal hernia treatment easier. Western society and in particular the North American way of eating with it’s fast food and highly acidic diet has played a huge role in many health conditions, especially those involving acid reflux.

hernia treatment surgery

Other countries often have more natural produce which in turn creates an overall healthier you. So if you having been contemplating traveling but have been worried about your hiatal hernia treatment, do a little research on your planned destinations and GO FOR IT! If you are really concerned then spend a little more time planning your trip and how you can best accommodate your hiatal hernia treatment needs. Plan outings ahead of time that involve walking and sight seeing.

See what fun sports there are to enjoy that aren’t too strenuous or make reservations for excursions from your hotel in advance. Look up menu options at your hotel. Most airlines also will provide special meals if needed. If you are going to be staying in a location for an extended period of time then check out what local markets are in the area and you may even be able to have your hotel stock your room with items you need on your arrival including any natural remedies you are used to taking as part of your hiatal hernia treatment.

Canker Sores In Mouth

If you’ve ever found yourself with a horribly painful white ulcer in your mouth, then you know just how bad canker mouth sores can be. It’s not surprising that people are looking for treatment for canker sores in mouth, since these are so incredibly painful that it’s often hard to eat or even speak, depending on where the white canker is.

What kind of treatment for canker sores in mouth can you use that won’t cost you an arm and a leg? Well, there are a few home remedies that you can try, though they are not always effective.

  • Salt. Add salt to warm water and rinse your mouth with it several times to disinfect the ulcer. You might also want to try rubbing salt on the wound, which will hurt a lot, but some people swear by this method.
  • Toothpaste. Many people try toothpaste on their canker mouth sores. I have to admit that this has never worked for me and only resulted in further irritation of the white cankers. However, there are some new toothpaste formulas that are designed specifically for canker sores, so perhaps these would be worth trying.
  • Chamomile tea. Another treatment for canker sores in mouth is tea. There are actually a number of teas that can be used, but chamomile seems to come up most often. It is soothing and helps reduce inflammation, which is rampant when you have canker mouth sores.

There are several other types of treatments that are medically designed, creams, pads and drops that can all be applied to your canker sores. However, the vast majority of these are simply designed to help reduce pain until the canker sores go away on their own, which usually takes 7-15 days, but can take as long as 30.

You really don’t want to deal with canker sore pain. Relief can be had through certain extracts, but this will only rid you of your sores for a short time. The real treatment for canker sores in mouth includes a method which will keep them from coming back.

Lingering Cough Cures

A nasty cold can linger for weeks. You feel run down and worse, cannot seem to stop coughing. The cough begins with a little tickle in your throat and, before you know it, you are coughing for 10 minutes or more. Cough in a store and people move away from you immediately. How can you get rid of a cough?

First, you need to understand that coughing helps to clear mucus from your throat. One tried and true remedy for a cough is to stand in a hot shower and breathe the steam. If you do not want to take a shower, hold your head over a pan of boiling water. Do not hold your head too close, though.

Honey is an old folk remedy for cough. In a website article, “Honey: An Effective Cough Remedy?” Mayo Clinic says eating honey may suppress a cough. However, you need to be cautious about giving honey to a child. “Never give honey to a child younger than age one“, Mayo Clinic advises.

A WebMD article, “Coughs: Topic Overview”, divides coughs into productive and nonproductive. Productive coughs are the ones you have with a common cold. “Coughing is often triggered by mucus that drains down the back of the throat“, notes the article. A productive cough clears mucus from the lungs. But a nonproductive cough does not clear mucus and “may develop toward the end of a cold or after exposure to an irritant, such as dust or smoke.”

Over-the-counter cough syrup may also help you get rid of a cough. You should not take this syrup if you have asthma, emphysema, or excessive mucus in your throat. According to the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) you need to check the active ingredients in cough syrup before you take it. Cough syrup often contains several active ingredients: a decongestant, cough suppressant, expectorant, pain reliever and fever reducer.

Look for Pseudoephidrene in the ingredients list, a stimulant that dries up your nose and throat. The side effects of this ingredient include nervousness, dizziness and sleeplessness. As I discovered, this ingredient can also raise your blood pressure and cause your heart to beat very rapidly.

My husband and I were going out to dinner. Because I had a lingering cough I took some cough medicine and drank a cup of coffee to perk me up. I had a glass of wine with dinner and coffee afterwards. Suddenly, my heart was racing and I began to feel faint. Later, I discovered this reaction was caused by the Pseudoephidrene in the cough syrup.

Tablespoons and teaspoons very widely, according to the FDA, so you should only use the measuring cup or spoon that comes with the cough syrup. Keep in mind that cough medicine does not treat the underlying cause of a cough. See your physician if your cough lingers for weeks, you develop bronchitis, pneumonia, or start to cough up blood. Colds are not fun but they eventually go away.

Pressure Ringing Ears

Noticeable if you are in places where there is background noise, but it would be irritating if you are in really quiet places. The pressure ringing ears that you may experience may be severe enough that you would not be able to focus on your tasks at hand. If it really disturbs you, you should try to get a cure for the ringing in your ears. There are many things that can cause a ringing in your ears. The most common cause is by exposure to noise and very loud sounds. This type of ringing is usually only temporary.

The other type of ringing is caused by too much pressure in the inner ear. This can be caused by either high blood pressure or too much earwax inside your ear. All of these can cause tinnitus or the ringing inside your ear. If you have high blood pressure or other ailments in your circulatory system, it may cause tinnitus. This can happen because some of the blood vessels near your ear may become narrow. The narrowing can cause great pressure, and as a result, you might hear rushing or pulsing ringing sounds. These sounds are often in time with your heartbeat. Some of the factors that can aggravate this condition are unhealthy diets and, lack of exercise, and too much stress. The first factor is pretty much self-explanatory.

The lack of exercise can also cause tinnitus because its defenses are weakened. Stress also plays its part in causing the ringing associated with circulatory problems. When your body is stressed, it might be forced to do more than it is capable of, and this can lead to hypertension and ultimately, the tinnitus that you hear. Having your blood pressure checked often is just one way preventing pressure ringing ears. Getting exercise daily and managing your stress levels can also help prevent the annoying ringing sound you get to hear. If you still hear a ringing in your ears but your blood pressure is just normal, there may be other things that can cause the tinnitus. There may be too much ear wax inside your ear that it pushes against the sensitive parts of the ear.

This is not only irritating but it can also be quite painful at times. If you suspect that you have excessive ear wax, you should get your ear checked by a doctor specializing in treatment of ear diseases. The earwax needs to be removed, and one way to do this is by syringing your ear. It might seem painful, but it is really not an unpleasant experience. The doctor would only need to syringe the excess ear wax, and after that, you are good to go. The pressure ringing ears that you have will now be comfortable and your range of hearing will be back to normal. Not only that, you would also get to enjoy your life without getting bothered by tinnitus.

Symptoms of Celiac Disease

Severe constant diarrhea with large amount of stools hovering in water and loss of weight are the symptoms of celiac disease. These symptoms were ordinary in infants and younger children who have a tendency to build up bowel symptoms and problems regarding growth just after they began eating cereals containing gluten. It was thought before that celiac ailment happened to children only and in many cases they could have outgrown it.

Today, it is known that the disease may start in any age, continue for life, may engage several organs and both in adults and children the symptoms of this illness may be tremendously changeable- or there can be no clear signs at all. Since there are no typical pictures of persons with the disease, some patients come to doctors for years, in search for some diagnosis of the illness.

The indications of any celiac disease constantly disappear whenever the patient pursues a strict diet which is free of gluten. In unusual circumstances, if the intestines were damaged severely by constant inflammation that they were not able to heal even with diets free of gluten, the patients are diagnosed of having a refractory or unresponsive, celiac disease.

Gastrointestinal-Related Symptoms of Celiac Disease

These signs can be erroneously attributed to some other gastrointestinal problems, like stomach ulcers, inflammatory bowel illness, Crohn’s disease and irritable bowel syndrome:

- Diarrhea
- Constipation
- Chronic indigestion
- Chronic bloating
- Poor appetite
- Abdominal cramping, distention and pain
- Mouth ulcers

Long -standing celiac disease which is not treated leads to a higher risk in adenocarcinoma and sometimes lymphoma in small intestines. Even with the increased danger, the occurrence of these tumors in some celiac patients is very unusual and if patients follow a strict diet which is free of gluten, the risk was reported to drop down and equal the danger of some healthy persons.

Malabsorption-Related Symptoms of Celiac Disease

The destruction of the tiny projections of the mucous membrane and some changes inside the tiny intestines spoils the ability to take up nutrients, minerals and vitamins which are fat-soluble like Vitamins A, D. E. and K. Signs and indications of malabsorption may include: Weight loss, failure flourish/stunted growth in children, fatigue, anemia, osteoporosis or osteopenia, abnormal coagulation due to lack of Vitamin K and bacterial overgrowth of the tiny intestines.

Other signs of celiac disease:

  • Dermatitis herpetiformis
  • Recurrent miscarriage
  • Abnormalities in dental enamel
  • Depression and anxiety
  • Autoimmune endocrine disorders, including thyroid disease
  • Peripheral neuropathy
  • Ataxia
  • Epilepsy
  • Subtle abnormalities in blood tests for no obvious reasons
  • Elevated liver function test
  • Low serum (blood) protein levels
  • Low serum (blood) protein levels
  • Low serum (blood) calcium levels

These several lists of signs support the information that there are no classic ways for celiac illness to be determined. It is simple to miss, except physicians and patients bear in mind to consider it. It is specifically true for persons with numerous medical problems and in people who are totally fine but have genetic inclination. When celiac disease is exposed, acceptance of diet free from gluten will lessen the dangers for severe long-term problems.

Parkinson’s Disease

It’s not just a rare disease anymore. People all around the world are being affected by this debilitating disease that takes away everything but your mind. Parkinson’s disease affects the nerve cell function in the section of the brain that is in control of muscle movements. It slowly disables the nerve control and over time it leaves you unable to move at all without assistance.

Most of the time, you can identify someone who has Parkinson’s by the way they shake or tremor. For most, the tremors and shakes are worse when you are lying down and will decrease when you are active. You may only experience shaking and tremors on one side of your body or you may end up with the shakes and tremors all over the body. This affects the simple every day tasks in life such as writing a grocery list, driving to the store, watching television or visiting with friends. Other symptoms that have been experienced by people with Parkinson’s disease include depression, unable to dress themselves, preparing meals, and excessive saliva. Everyone is different and the severity of your symptoms depend on your over all health, the degree of Parkinson’s disease and your environment.

For most, Parkinson’s disease can be diagnosed by the symptoms that a person describes. The doctor may also look over your past medical history, do blood work, run x-rays and more tests. Doctors usually recommend a certain medication that will take care of the symptoms. If the symptoms are relieved after taking the medication for a certain amount of time then your doctor can be certain that you do indeed have Parkinson’s disease. If the medication does not relieve the symptoms then your doctor may conduct further testing to rule out other conditions and diseases.

If you take care of someone who has recently been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease there are several different things that you can do to stay on top of this disease and ease the symptoms as they occur. You can’t cure Parkinson’s disease but it can be easier to live with. Make sure that you make it to all your doctor appointments and tests that your doctor ordered on time. Write down all the questions you may have regarding the conditions and symptoms that you may be witnessing. When possible go in with the patient and find out everything you can about this disease; what to expect and what is going on.

Because you are the main care giver for someone who suffers from Parkinson’s disease you will be able to stay on top of any new symptoms that they experience. Even the simple chores can be hard to do so it’s best to understand now how it deteriorates the body. Because it alters the way that people do everyday chores you can find ways to make it easier for them as soon as they start showing signs. You can look for applications that can assist in buttoning buttons and more. These are all available online and the cost is minimal.

Flu Prevention Tips

Nearly everyone has experienced a bout with the flu. The best way to ward off the flu is to protect yourself from becoming infected in the first place. Taking the right precautions can spare you from having to spend time in bed feeling terrible. The good news in all this is that it’s not hard to avoid this virus.

Of course, frequent hand washing is a must. Make sure your hands are clean before you eat. Keep your fingers out of your mouth, eyes, and nose, especially if you have touched railings, elevator buttons, public computers, or any other objects that others touch. Keep your distance from infected people.

Drink plenty of fluids and maintain a healthy diet. This will help keep your immune system functioning at its best. Take vitamin supplements daily. This will also help your body ward off infections. Zinc and vitamin C are especially effective in boosting the immune system. They will give your body the necessary boost to prevent viral infections.

Research suggests that elderberry extract can also help with prevention efforts. This herb has a history that goes back hundreds of years as a natural medicine. It was first used for making wine, syrups, marmalades, and other desserts. It is also a popular treatment for vision and respiratory ailments.

Scientists attending the 15th Annual Conference on Antiviral Research analyzed the ability of elderberry extract in the prevention of influenza. The results were published in The Journal of Alternative Complimentary Medicine. According to the results, this herb prevents influenza infections by preventing the virus from connecting to host cells.

Eat fresh fruits and vegetables but first thoroughly wash them. However, avoid eating fruits and vegetables at restaurants during flu season.

You can also take steps to physically protect yourself from infection. You can protect your body from exposure by wearing goggles, disposable gloves, or surgical masks. These items were previously used to prevent in schools and other places where there are large numbers of people, to prevent outbreaks of the H1N1 virus.

The flu is spread through contact with an infected person through air particles and contaminated surfaces. If you are going to be in a place where there are a lot of people such as at work, you can avoid getting infected by disinfecting your work area regularly. This can be done through the use of disinfectants and detergents.
